Landrum Legacy Continues
Susan Barry, Community Foundation president & CEO, presents a $150,000 grant to the Cardinal Venture Fund. This grant was made possible by the Foundation's founder, Baylor Landrum Jr., who died earlier this year. “Baylor Landrum was a thoughtful, visionary philanthropist and community leader,” explains Ms. Barry. “We’re delighted to pass this gift from Baylor to the university he loved.”
The Cardinal Venture Fund provides seed capital (up to $50,000) for qualified U of L students and alumni who develop new companies. The fund is housed in U of L’s School of Business. |
Supporting Local Classrooms
The Community Foundation is looking to transform our community, one classroom at a time.
We are partnering with online charity DonorsChoose.org to support innovative and creative projects in local classrooms to enhance learning. Teachers upload projects on DonorsChoose.org/Teachers that the public can then support with charitable donations. The Community Foundation will match charitable contributions to projects in Jefferson County, up to $50,000 each school year, for the next three years. Coupled with public donations, this would mean $300,000 in total giving to support innovation and creativity in local classrooms.
